Philippine Consul General Gina Jamoralin welcomed Brigadier General Paolo Leo G. Miciano AFP, Commander, Philippine Army Reserve Command on 11 January 2016 and members of his delegation composed of Colonel Faisal A Nawang PA (MNSA), LTC Christopher M Diaz PA, Maj Romar C Marvida PA, and Maj Joel R Jonson PA during a courtesy call at the Philippine Consulate. The delegation was assisted by the AFP LNO to USPACOM, Capt Rey dela Cruz PN(GSC).
BGen Miciano AFP and his party was in Honolulu, Hawaii from 7-12 January 2016, for the Senior Leader’s Visit and Planning Conference for the Army Operational Readiness Staff Exchange with the 9th Mission Support Command.
The 9th Mission Support Command is a United States Army Reserve unit located in Fort Shafter, Honolulu, Hawaii. The 9th Mission Support Command is a U.S. Army Reserve Command under the operational control of U.S. Army Pacific (USARPAC). Headquartered in Honolulu, Hawaii, the 9th MSC consists of approximately 3,500 Army Reserve Soldiers and 160 civilians throughout the Pacific, including Hawaii, Alaska, American Samoa, Japan, Korea, Guam and Saipan.
During their visit, the Philippine Army delegates were able to observe the unit and battle training exercise of the 9th MSC, finalize the planning and the preparation for the upcoming staff exchange, and formulate future bilateral activities with the 9th MSC.
Aside from the 9th MSC, the delegation also visited the Center for Excellence in Disaster Management & Humanitarian Assurance (CFE-DM), the 9th Mission Support Command's 303rd Maneuver Enhancement Brigade (MEB), and the 829th Signal Network Support Company. BGen Miciano also rendered office call on MGen Todd B McCaffrey, the Deputy Commanding General, US Army Pacific (USARPAC).
