Philippine Consul General to Hawaii Gina Jamoralin called upon registered Filipino overseas voters in Hawaii to go out and vote in the May 2016 presidential elections and help shape the country’s future. She made the call during the induction of new officers of the Philippine Cultural Foundation of Hawaii (PCFH), the pioneering Filipino cultural organization founded by the Filipino Community in Hawaii in 1969. Honolulu City Mayor Kirk Caldwell who inducted the new PCFH officers, also called upon the Filipino-American community to exercise their right to vote in this year’s United States’ local and national elections.

Founded on February 28, 1969, under the initiative of former Philippine Consul General to Hawaii, Trinidad Q. Alconcel, the PCFH led by its President emeritus, Maggie Domingo, has been serving the Filipino community in promoting Philippine culture in Hawaii and in providing scholarships to deserving FilAm youths to finance their college studies in Hawaii over the years.

Other guests during the event were Hawaii State Representative Romeo Cachola and Honolulu City Councilmember Joey Manahan and Filipino Community leaders in Hawaii. (END).
