For the very first time, the Filipino Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii (FCCH) and the Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii (COCH), led by its Presidents, Mr. Samuel Acosta and Mr. Eddie Flores, respectivelym organized a trade mission to the Philippines from 18 to 22 February. It is the Filipino Chamber’s 25th Trade Mission, and the Chinese Chamber’s first to the Philippines. Nearly fifty (50) participants from both Chambers have signed up for the trade mission to explore possible business and investment opportunities in the Philippines.
Joining the delegation is Philippine Consul General in Honolulu Gina A. Jamoralin, whose office also assisted in arranging visits and meetings with officials from the Philippine government and the private sector.
This year’s delegation will pay courtesy calls on Philippine government officials, including Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada, San Juan City Mayor Guia Gomez, Cebu City Governor Hilario Davide III; officers from the private sector including the Makati Business Club, Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industries and the Philippines-US Business Council; and visits to the Presidential Museum and Library in Malacañang, Chinese cemetery and Chinatown.
