Current Dean of the Consular Corps, Honorary Consul of Slovenia, Admiral R.J. “Zap” Zlatoper, retired United States Navy four star admiral who served as Commander in Chief, United States Pacific Fleet (CINCPACFLT) from 1994 to 1996, delivered his remarks on behalf of the Consular Corps in expressing appreciation for the Governor’s proclamation which recognizes the important contribution of the Consular Corps and the countries they represent in making Hawaii a vibrant, open and prosperous multi-cultural society and in maintaining the State’s well-known aloha spirit.

The Consular Corps of Hawaii represents 37 Countries and several local organizations and individuals called associate members. These include seven (7) resident Consulates General of Australia, Japan, Marshall Islands , Micronesia, New Zealand, Philippines and South Korea while the rest are non-resident consular offices of different countries represented by their respective Honorary Consuls who are respected members of the academe, business and government.
