The Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu went to Maui, Hawaii to conduct its 4th mobile consular outreach for the year from March 19 to 20 at the Maui Business Resource Center. Consul General Gina A. Jamoralin led the team in providing consular services to the residents of Maui and its surrounding areas. A total of 333 consular transactions were processed during the one and a half-day event. The team was able to service 272 applicants for passports, process 21 authentication and notarial requests, and administer oath of allegiance to 40 dual citizens.

Members of the consular outreach team also took the opportunity to conduct information campaign on the process of overseas absentee voting in connection to the 2016 Philippine Elections. A voter information desk was set-up where the public can check whether they are registered as voters for the upcoming elections.

The team also distributed COMELEC-issued voters’ ID to registered claimant who went to the consular outreach.

The event was made possible through the assistance of the Office of the Mayor of the County of Maui, Department of Housing and Human Services, and members of the Filipino community in Maui.(END).
