Philippine Defense Secretary General Delfin Lorenzana and Madam Editha Lorenzana were special guests during the dinner hosted by PHL Consul General Gina Jamoralin at the official residence on October 1, 2016. Consuls General of Australia, New Zealand, Japan and South Korea and their spouses and officials from the US Pacific Command and US Embassy in Manila also attended the dinner.
Secretary Lorenzana arrived in Honolulu for the ASEAN-US Informal Meeting of Defense Ministers from September 29-October 1, 2016 upon the invitation of US Defense Secretary Ash Carter. Secretary Lorenzana had meetings with his ASEAN counterparts and US Defense Secretary Carter to discuss defense and security issues. This is the second time that Honolulu is hosting the ASEAN-US Defense Ministers Meeting since its first meeting on April 1-3 , 2014 hosted by then US Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel.
Accompanying Secretary Lorenzana to the meeting were officials from the Department of National Defense, Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine Embassy in Washington DC and Philippine Consulate in Honolulu. (END).
