Yellow Cab Pizza, the New York-style pizza restaurant founded in the Philippines, officially opened its first US branch on 18 January 2017 at 801 Dillingham Boulevard in the neighborhood of Iwilei in Honolulu, Hawaii.
With over 130 locations worldwide, Yellow Cab Pizza is one of the 14 brands owned by Max’s Group Inc.(MGI) , which also includes brands such as Max’s Restaurant, Pancake House, Teriyaki Boy, Dencio’s and Krispy Kreme. It was registered as a trade name by the International Restaurant Group, Inc., whose partners include Mr. Michael and Mrs. Maly San Luis, owners of the nearby Filipino restaurant, Max’s of Manila.
Aside from pizza, Yellow Cab also sells pasta dishes, chicken wings, desserts and other appetizers. It also serves coffee, beer and wine and has large television screens that will show sporting events.
Mr. Bill Rodgers, Executive Director of the MGI Board, Mr. and Mrs. San Luis and Consul Joyleen E. Santos of the Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu, led the ribbon-cutting ceremony. It was followed by a blessing of the restaurant by Fr. Frankie delos Reyes, a Filipino parish priest in Honolulu.
To mark its Hawaii debut, Yellow Cab gave away free pizzas to its first 50 customers plus prizes on its opening day. (END).
