As part of the ongoing efforts of the Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu to promote Philippine culture, Acting Head of Post Roberto T. Bernardo welcomed the Filipino Club students of the Hawaii Baptist Academy, headed by their adviser, Ms. Dynah Ustare on 1 March 2017 at the Philppine Consulate General. Members of the Filipino Club had their lunch at the Consulate's lanai and learned more about the culture of the Philippines by watching a video made by the National Commission for Culture and Arts (NCCA) featuring the interview of former NCCA Chair Felipe de Leon.
Vice Consul Andrea Christina Caymo also gave a brief history of the Consulate before the students were toured around the Consulate's property. The visit is expected to jumpstart the establishment of closer partnership between the Consulate and other school organizations in promoting Philippine culture among students, especially second or third-generation Filipinos.
