On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the new Consul General of New Zealand, Consul General Karena Rosa Lyons paid a courtesy call on Philippine Consul General to Hawaii, Consul General Gina Jamoralin at the Philippine Consulate on March 8, 2017. Consul General Lyons was accompanied by her Deputy Consul General David Treacher.
The two officials exchanged views on political developments in their respective countries and expressed satisfaction over the strong bilateral relations between Philippines and New Zealand.
Consul General Jamoralin noted that His Excellency President Rodrigo Duterte, on his way to the APEC Leaders Summit in Peru in November 2016, had a brief stop over in New Zealand where he received a warm welcome from a vibrant and growing local Filipino community .
Consul General Lyons completed her BA Political Studies and Bachelor of Laws from University of Auckland and Master of Laws in the same university. (END).
