To culminate the month-long celebration of the 119th Anniversary of Philippine Independence, EK Fernandez Shows and 96.7 KPHI Filipino Radio held the 1st Filipino Cultural Night at the 50th State Fair on 24 June 2017 in Honolulu Hawaii.

For the very first time, the State Fair, the biggest annual fair in Hawaii which ran from 25 May 2017 to 25 May 2017, featured a night filled with entertainment and fun highlighting the diversity of Filipino culture through dance, music and fashion.

In her welcome remarks, Philippine Consul General Gina A. Jamoralin took the opportunity to commend the Filipino community in Hawaii for the success of various Independence Day activities in June which include the Adobo Festival, the Great Adobo Cook-Off, Philippine Independence Day Gala, the Earth Philippines Hawaii Art Exhibit and the 10th Filipino Film Festival.

The Filipino Cultural Night, which had the theme “Then and Now! Noon at Ngayon!” featured a line-up of local A-list performers which include Filipino-American Broadway star Kristian Lei, The Voice Kids Philippines finalist Yssa Marie West, Tekniqlingz Crew, Koro Filipino Haranistas, Bulacan Circle and Associates, and a fashion show by Filipino couturier Iris Viacrusis.
