Three women officials from the Philippine government succesfully completed the one-month course entitled Comprehensive Security Responses to Terrorism Course (CSRT) conducted by the Daniel K. Inouye – Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies (DKI-APCSS) from which culminated in a commencement program held at the DKI-APCSS Hall on August 10, 2017.

About one hundred fellows from Asia, Latin America , Africa and the US completed the course. Philippine Consul General Gina Jamoralin, who was invited to the commencement program , congratulated the Filipino participants namely: Col. Estela Villa, Philippine Army; Ms. Maria Veronica Quirante Pontillas, Supervising Agent, National Bureau of Investigation; and Ms. Michelle Bonto, Jail Senior Inspector, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, Department of Interior and Local Government. Capt. Rey dela Cruz, AFP Liaison Officer to USPACOM and Col. Rolando Orengo, Assistant Liaison Officer, also from the Philippine Consulate in Honolulu also attended the commencement program to congratulate the Philippine participants.

The CSRT course explores the nature of modern terrorism, its purposes, practices and patterns in the Asia-Pacific region. The Fellows who are working in the national security sectors of their respective countries are in the position to evaluate the problems of terrorism in their countries and to study strategies and methods to mitigate the problem.

Course certificates were handed over to the graduates during the commencement program which automatically entitle them to join roster of APCSS alumni all over the world and their vast network of security practitioners.(END).
