Lihue, Kauai – Philippine Consul General Gina Jamoralin, upon the invitation of the Kauai Chamber of Commerce (KCC) visited Kauai County as guest speaker during the Chamber’s 4th Quarterly Meeting and Election of Officers held on November 7, 2017 at the Kauai Marriott Resort, Lihue, Kauai County.

Mr. Bobby Ayonon, the current KCC president, thanked Consul General Jamoralin for gracing the occasion and the Philippine Consulate General for its continuing services to the Filipinos in Kauai through its regular consular outreach services to the islands.

Consul General Jamoralin spoke about the need for unity among the Filipinos in Kauai to work for the common good of the Filipinos living in the islandsm, the Filipinos now being the largest ethnic group in the state. Consul General Jamoralin also thanked the Kauai County particularly the Office of Mayor Bernard Carvalho in its support of Consulate consular outreach program by providing free venue and volunteer staff. She also expressed appreciation for the various Filipino community organizations including the KCC for their volunteers during the Consulate’s consular visits to the islands .

Kauai Mayor Bernard Carvalho gave the opening message and recalled his recent trip to Davao City in February with Consul General Jamoralin during the Trade Mission to the Philippines organized by the Filipino Chamber of Commerce in Hawaii (FCCH). During the visit, Davao City and Kauai County officials signed a Friendship City Agreement, to further cooperation between the two cities. END
