The Filipino Community in Hawai’i county led by the Fil-Am Community of East Hawaii and other groups organized a farewell lunch for Philippine Consul General Gina Jamoralin on January 19, 2018 in Hilo, Hawaii county (aka Big Island). Mr. Oliver Parenas, president of the Fil-Am Community of East Hawaii presented a farewell gift to Consul General Jamoralin in the form of a statue of a hula dancer.
 
 
The Philippine Consulate General in partnership with the Office of Mayor Harry Kim of Hawai’i County and the Filipino Community in Hilo have been partners in the succesful conduct of the Philippine Consulate’s consular outreach in Hilo twice a year. The Hawai’i County aka Big Island County hosts the third largest population of Filipinos in the state of Hawaii.
 
 
On January 18, Consul General Jamoralin also paid a farewell call on the Office of Mayor Harry Kim of Hawai’i county and presented him a certificate of appreciation for the county’s support to the yearly consular outreach in Hilo and Kona conducted by the Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu. She also met with the Dean of the University of Hawaii in Hilo – College of Agriculture, Dr. Bruce Matthews to discuss activities under the University of Hawaii Hilo – Aklan State University Sister University Agreement signed in 2017 under the initiative and guidance of the Philippine Consulate General (END).
