Philippine Consul General Gina Jamoralin made a farewell call on Hawaii Senators Donna Mercado-Kim and Willy Espero at the State Capitol on January 24, 2018 . Consul General Jamoralin met with Senator Will Espero, who represents the 19th Senate District which encompasses Ewa Beach, Ocean Pointe, Ewa by Gentry, Iroquois Point and a portion of Ewa Villages. He is currently the Majority Floor Leader of the Hawaii State Senate and Chair of the Committee on Housing and Member of the Committee on Commerces, Consumer Protection and Health; the Committee on Education ; and Committee on Higher Education.
Consul General Jamoralin called on Senator Donna Mercado Kim later that day. Senator Kim represents Hawaii’s 14th Senatorial District Consul which encompasses Kapalama, Alewa, Kalihi Valley, Ft. Shafter, Moanalua Gardens & Valley and portions of Halawa and Aiea. She has served in the Hawaii’s State Senate since 2000.
Senator Kim and Senator Espero served as Senate President and Vice-President of the Senate , respectively in 2014 when House Bill 604 aka “Sakada Day” bill was introduced in the Hawaii State Senate and was passed unanimously and signed into law on April 9, 2015 by Governor David Ige.
Consul General Jamoralin thanked the Senators for their support to the activities of the Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu and for their support of the Sakada bill during their Senate leadership. (END).
