14 December 2020, Honolulu, Hawaii – The Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu conducted a goodwill visit to the fishermen at Piers 17 and 36 of the Honolulu Harbor on 11 December 2020. Consul Grace Anne G. Bulos headed the Consulate team, composed of Assistance to Nationals Officer Rodel V. Tejada, Protocol Officer Joel C. Bulos, Consular Assistant Severino B. Baliao and Property Officer Salmineo De Castro. The visit coordinated with Pastor Jerry Saludez of the Waipio Community Baptist Church (WCBC) and head of the Seafarers Ministry.
Consul Bulos expressed appreciation to the Seafarers Ministry for the opportunity to spend time with the Filipino fishermen. She conveyed Consul General Joselito A. Jimeno’s Christmas greetings and assured them of the Consulate’s readiness to assist them whenever necessary. Despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, she reminded them to nurture the spirit of gratitude and joy, and foster peace of mind by taking care of their interpersonal and family relationships.
As tokens for the fishermen and their families, the Consulate team turned over 100 tins of assorted biscuits and coffee sachets from the undersigned and nine balikbayan boxes of pre-loved clothes, toys, shoes, accessories, and children’s books donated by Post’s personnel. END
