12 April 2021, Honolulu, Hawaii, USA – The Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu expresses its deepest appreciation to its invaluable partners for their efforts in vaccinating the Filipino community and other eligible groups against COVID-19 in the State of Hawaii. Based on State of Hawaii Department of Health data, the Filipino community has the second highest number of COVID-19 infections and deaths in the state.

The Waipio Community Baptist Church and Seafarers Ministry, headed by Pastor Jerry Saludez, partnered with the Hawaii Longline Association and Kaiser Permanente in the conduct of mobile COVID-19 vaccination clinics at the Honolulu Harbor on 9 and 30 March 2021 to vaccinate fishermen employed in Hawaii’s longline fishing industry. FilCOM partnered with the Diocesan Congress of Filipino Catholic Clubs (DCFCC), Nareit Hawaii, Project Vision, Kalihi-Palama Health Center, Oahu Council of Filipino Catholic Clubs, Hawaii Public Health Institute, Office of Language Access, State of Hawaii Department of Health, the University of Hawaii at Manoa and the Knights of Rizal-Hawaii Chapter for the conduct of several vaccination clinics in Oahu’s Catholic churches.
