Philippine Consul General Joselito A. Jimeno welcomed Hawaii Public Health Institute (HIPHI) Director for Food Systems Dr. Susan Pineda Mercado at the Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu on 20 July 2021.  Dr. Mercado, a public health expert, was formerly the Strategic Adviser for COVID-19, International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies Asia Pacific Region and Special Envoy of the President on Global Health Initiatives in the Philippines. The HIPHI is a non-profit for health that brings community-based organizations, government, academia, foundations and businesses together to improve the quality of life for the people of Hawaii.
