PRESS RELEASE NO. 05-2022

2 February 2022, Honolulu – In preparation for the Philippine national elections on 9 May 2022, the Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu constituted its Special Board of Election Inspectors (SBEI) and Special Ballot Reception & Custody Group (SBRCG) on 26 January 2022. 

In a ceremony held at the Consulate’s social hall last 31 January, the oath of office was administered by Consul General Emil Fernandez to the Consulate personnel who will serve in the said bodies. 

Over 13,000 overseas Filipinos in the State of Hawaii and American Samoa are eligible to vote for President, Vice President, Senators and Party-List Representatives in the coming elections this May.  Overseas voting in Hawaii is done via mail.  Voters will start receiving their ballots 30 days prior to election day.  END.
