PRESS RELEASE NO. 19-2022

05 April 2022 – Consul General Emil Fernandez and Ms. Sherry Menor-McNamara, President & CEO of the Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii, met to discuss ways the Chamber could support the Philippine Consulate’s economic diplomacy efforts, among other topics. The two resolved to further strengthen the trade and investment relations between the Philippines and Hawaii.

Ms. Menor-McNamara, the youngest and first female and Japanese-Filipino leader in the Chamber’s history, comes from a family of public servants. Her father was a former state legislator and Hawaii County executive, while her uncle, Ben Menor, served as State Senator and had the distinction of being the first Filipino Associate State Supreme Court Justice in the U.S.

The Chamber of Commerce Hawaii is a statewide, non-profit organization that serves as the “Voice of Business” in the state. It advocates the interests of its over 2,000 member organizations and ensures the state’s economic vitality.  (END)
