25 APRIL 2022 – Consul General Emil Fernandez was provided a briefing and orientation last April 22 by Mr. Stewart Holbrook, Senior Operations Officer, of the important work of the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency, an agency within the U.S. Department of Defense whose mission is to recover American military personnel listed as prisoners of war (POW) or missing in action (MIA) from past conflicts from countries around the world, including the Philippines. Over 70,000 service members are still unaccounted for from World War II. DPAA’s scientific laboratory at the Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in Hawaii is only one of two in the country. (END)
