4 May 2022 – Consul General Emil Fernandez and Congressman Ed Case met virtually today, where they discussed a range of issues of common concern to the Philippines and the United States, as well as matters affecting the Filipino community in Hawaii. Congressman Case represents the state’s 1st Congressional District, where close to 200,000 Filipino Americans reside. In his role as Co-Chair of the Pacific Island Caucus and member of the House Committee on Appropriations, he recently participated in the visit of a U.S. congressional delegation to Pacific Island countries, including the Philippines, to meet with key military and civilian leaders of allies and partners in the region.
