01 June 2022, Honolulu, Hawaii – The Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu is pleased to announce that this year’s Filipino Food Week (FFW) will be celebrated this June 20 to 26.
Participating restaurants and revered chefs will be featuring Filipino cuisine for an entire week for their diners. The Consulate encouraged restaurants once again to prepare special dishes that celebrate Filipino cuisine as well as create appetizers, entrees, desserts, or drinks which feature calamansi as an ingredient. Calamansi is a citrus fruit popular in the Philippines, used as a flavoring agent, among other purposes.
Participating Restaurants
Restaurants in Oahu, Maui, Kauai, and the Big Island will participate in this year’s FFW.
In Oahu, the following establishments will feature a special Filipino dish or drink from June 20 to 26: Chef Chai, Eating House 1849 by Roy Yamaguchi, Elena's Home of Finest Filipino Foods, GOEN Dining + Bar, Pai Honolulu, Roy’s Hawaii Kai, Roy’s Koolina, Roy’s Waikiki, Skull & Crown Trading Co, Stage Restaurant, Tiano's Restaurants, and Tiki's Grill & Bar.
For Maui, the following restaurants will be participating: Humble Market Kitchin, Joey's Kitchen, Macadangdang, Roy’s Kaanapali, and Tante's Island Cuisine.
Meanwhile, diners can taste the sumptuous FFW specials at Roy’s Waikoloa Bar & Grill in the Big Island and Eating House in Kauai.
What to look forward to?
In the coming days, the Consulate will release a complete list of special offerings from the participating restaurants.
FFW Partners
The Filipino Food Week is being spearheaded by the Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu in partnership with Jacob's Gourmet Foods, Muy Bien Ventures Co. Inc., Marigold Corporation (Mama Sita’s), and Tanduay USA.
The Food Week is part of a US-wide effort of the Philippine Embassy and Consulates in the US to promote Filipino cuisine and culture. (END)
