Honolulu, Hawaii, USA, 18 July 2022 – Over 300 consular applicants were serviced during the Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu’s consular outreach mission in Hilo, Hawaii from 15 to 17 July.  This was the Consulate’s second outreach for the year to areas under its jurisdiction.  The last outreach mission to Hilo was in September 2019. 

Consul Grace Bulos led the Hilo outreach team and was assisted by Consular Assistants Hermogenes Cayabyab, Abigail Ramos, Elaine Justine Aldaya, Mia Gaspar, and Victor Alegado.

The consular outreach team processed 287 passport applications and 44 notarials.  Consul Bulos administered the oath to 17 petitioners for retention/reacquisition Philippine citizenship.  

The Consulate partnered with the Hilo County Office of Immigration Services in the conduct of the outreach.  

While in Hilo, Consul Bulos met with the Fil-Am Community of East Hawaii headed by its president, Mr. Christian Atilag, to discuss developments in the local community and the Consulate’s projects and activities for the year, among other issues. 

The Consulate next outreach mission will be in Maui from 12 to 14 August 2022.  (END)
