Honolulu, Hawaii, USA 16 August 2022 – The Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu conducted a consular outreach mission to Maui, Hawaii from 11 to 14 August, benefitting over 300 consular applicants who would otherwise need to fly to Oahu to avail of passport renewal or dual citizenship services. A majority of these applicants are senior citizens.

Vice Consul Jomar Sadie led the outreach team and was assisted by Consular Assistants Mia Gaspar, Brenda Auro, Derico Derupe, Joel Bulos, and Finance Officer Abigail Ramos.

The outreach team processed 265 passport applications and 12 notarials. Vice Consul Sadie administered the oath to 41 petitioners for the retention/reacquisition of Philippine citizenship.

The Consulate partnered with the Department of Housing & Human Concerns, County of Maui led by Michelle Tardiville, Program Coordinator of the Immigrant Services Division.

While in Maui, Vice Consul Sadie also met with Mr. Domingo Gumpal, President of the Maui Filipino Community Council and Ms. Kit S. Furukawa, representative of the Filipino Young Leaders Program in Maui, to discuss the Consulate’s projects and activities. He also visited Tante’s Island Cuisine, owned by Chef Tante Urban, which participated in the Consulate’s Filipino Food Week (FFW) program last June, to award a bag of Filipino products from the sponsors of FFW as part of Post’s cultural diplomacy efforts.  END
