PHOTO RELEASE NO. 31-2022

Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, USA, 7 October 2022  - Consul Grace Bulos headed a consular team to service the Filipino community in Kona from 7 to 9 October.  The consular outreach mission to Kona coincided with The Ironman World Championship, which was participated in by 5,200 international triathlon athletes from 92 countries.  Of the participants, 43 were from the Philippines.  Kona has been the venue for the Ironman World Championship since 1981.  The race resumed this year after a three-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

While in Kona, Consul Bulos met with Ms. Princess Galura, General Manager of The Ironman Group – Philippines and Mr. Rheo Loseo, President and Managing Director, Youth with a Mission (YWAM) Ships Philippines for an introductory meeting and discussions on how to better support the Filipino athletes who will participate in The Ironman World Championship in 2023.
