BACKGROUND

The Philippine Consulate General (PCG) in Honolulu, Hawaii intends to procure the services of a construction company to remove the non-conforming portion of the its lanai, in order to conform to the State of Hawaii’s building code and building permit requirements.

 

II

SCOPE OF WORK

To demolish, remove, and dispose of the non-permitted structure in the PCH lanai and repair the remaining portion of the lanai located at the Philippine Consulate General, 2433 Pali Highway, Honolulu, HI 96817

III.

CONTRACTOR’S QUALIFICATIONS

The Contractor should possess the following qualifications:

  1. Reputable image and experience in Hawaii’s construction industry
  2. Be known to provide a wide array of professional construction services such as preconstruction, general contracting, and design-build.
IV.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

A. The Contractor must coordinate with PCG personnel and the Contractor of the PCG Building Renovation Project for the technical details of the removal work. Please refer to the attached drawing and photos.

B. The Contractor shall:

  1. Provide all labor, materials and equipment to perform the demolition of the non-permitted structure;
  2. Provide protection of all adjacent surfaces;
  3. Supply and install a dust barrier;
  4. Provide hazmat investigation and subsequent hazmat abatement;
  5. Disconnect power, remove and dispose of light fixtures and conduit;
  6. Remove lanai roofing, decking, framing, and gypsum ceiling;
  7. Remove and dispose of CMU columns to slab level and surface to be patched to match existing concrete driveway;
  8. Provide roof edge and gable repair of existing structure after demolition;
  9. Match new roof shingles to the Consulate’s existing building;
  10. Supply and install any flashing that requires replacement;
  11. Supply and install new aluminum gutters and downspouts as required. Downspout locations to be field verified;
  12. Paint touch up to existing building caused by demolition damages; and
  13. Dispose of all debris as per federal, State and local regulations.

C. The Contractor shall provide:

  1. a demolition plan, which includes drawings and details;
  2. specifications of any new materials that will be used for repairs to the remaining portion of the lanai, for approval by the PCG; and
  3. any sub-contractor back-up information.

EXCLUSIONS

  1. The removal and replacement of security cameras are excluded from the Project.
  2. The existing footings under columns shall be retained.
  3. The lanai over the existing exterior floor tiles shall be retained.

PROJECT DURATION

The Project shall commence in October 2019 and be completed within thirty (30) days.

VII

APPROVED BUDGET FOR THE CONTRACT (ABC)

The ABC is USD 19,000.00.

VIII

TERMS OF PAYMENT

Payment shall be made through check within seven (7) days upon receipt of the Official Invoice.

IX

SUBMISSION OF QUOTATIONS

Quotations must include the cost of:

  1. Demolition, disposal, and hazardous materials abatement,
  2. Labor and materials,
  3. One (1) year warranty on labor and materials,
  4. Name and Profile of the Contractor;
  5. Description of work; and
  6. Final quotation amount.
